Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Representing the pinnacle of the Foreign Affair portfolio, Gran Q is the embodiment of all that the winery does best. Powerful bouquet consisting of fig, dried black cherry, cherry compote, blackcurrant, red currant, leather, tobacco, espresso, cocoa, and smoke. The palate leads with a hint of sweetness before behemoth tannins, bright acidity, and a massive body move in, somehow balanced despite the enormous stature of each element. The palate is delighted by black cherry, cassis, blackberry, fig, tobacco, and oak. This wine represents the culmination of Foreign Affair's pioneering and trailblazing efforts in appassimento in North America, 105 days of grape drying, 28 months in French oak, blending the big reds they craft so well (51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Cabernet Franc, 17% Merlot), and bottle aging for three years prior to releasing this 18.7% ABV leviathan of a wine. Enjoy now through the end of the 2030s with roasted red meats, blue and hard cheeses, dark chocolate, and those special people deemed worthy of sharing this singular wine with.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
