Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The small amount of appassimento wine, 20%, boosts the body and aromatics of this Chardonnay. Firm and bold oak notes of baking spice, smoke, and creme brulee before gentle peach, pear, and pineapple. Between the French oak, lees aging, and appassimento, there is a pleasant texture the persists through the finish. A sturdy and full Chardonnay best with good, especially creamy pastas and roast turkey.
The Foreign Affair (2015) Chardonnay from the Niagara Peninsula wine region is unique in that a portion of the wine grapes for Chardonnay were dried in the traditional appassimento method for 30 days. The wine was barrel-fermented and aged on light lees for 15 months in French oak, 10% of it new. On the palate, dried peach, tropical fruit and creamy flavours matched by fresh acidity. Enjoy this wine now slightly chilled with mushroom risotto, salmon and trout, creamy cheeses. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
