Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Reviewing my tasting notes and the word that jumps out is "Yummy!" This is a super full-bodied red wine from a blend of iconic Shiraz and Mataro(Mourvedre). The aromas are intense with characteristics of Bing cherry, strawberry jam, black raspberry, cracked pepper, and baking spices. The palate is smooth adding notes of toffee, baker's chocolate, and smoke. Acidity is fresh and balances the" bigness" of this wine. This opaque beauty is elegant. Yes, elegant! Excellent value for $20. Bring on the BBQ red meats.

Trevor Sabourin - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Shiraz/Mataro (a.k.a. mourvedre) blend is big and smoky. Aromas are of smoke, toasted almond, menthol, tar, coffee, and ripe black fruit. Some black pepper and clove join in on the full palate. Round mouthfeel, with medium high tannins and acidity. Good length.
A robust Australian red wine blend of Shiraz and Mataro (Mourvèdre) with good bones and structure and balance with fleshy dark fruit. - Community Wine Reviews
