Love it! Meaty and mouth-watering with gorgeous ripe dark berries. Smooth and full-bodied. Juiciness and acidity cry out for a food companion, especially for the hearty meat variety. Decant 1 hour. Some blackberry and anise on the finish. The grapes for this wine are grown at an altitude of 1067 metres above sea level, which gives the wine balance and a nervy edge due to excellent drainage for the vintages and cool microclimate for the grapes. Pair this dark beauty with a juicy steak.

Malbec food pairings: veal, beef, chicken herb-rubbed roast, hearty soups, stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

There's some power wine making behind this label-Louis Vuitton-Moet Hennessy. How is that for luxury wine?! The vines age 45 years on average and grapes are entirely hand harvested at altitudes surpassing 1000 metres. The beauty in this glass is deep ruby with a purple hue. Juicy ripe dark/blue berries, plum, bakers chocolate, anise, leather, tobacco. Tannins are youthful and acidity medium+. The length is long on a warm fruit driven finish. At $18 I would buy two for the cellar and taste in a few years. Roasted rack of lamb, salted grilled steak.
