Juicy black and purple plums aromas along with fleshy blackberry and blueberry notes on this luscious palate. Full-bodied, smooth and mouth-watering. Not tannic. Reminds me (almost) of a juicy Californian zinfandel. Pair with grilled meats and happiness.

Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore food pairings: pizza topped with steak strips and garlic, spicy sausage , prime rib roast, hearty winter stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a full bodied red that is mouthwatering and screams for juicy barbequed burgers. Lots of dark fruit on the nose - blackberry, blueberry, and overripe plums. Delicious.
From the Veneto wine region, Ripasso Valpolicella Tedeschi Capitel San Rocco (2014) is great value with its juicy black plums, blueberry jam. Full-bodied and mouthwatering, this robust red is looking for a meaty stew dish or a pizza with a rich tomato sauce. - Community Wine Reviews
