Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This Pinot Noir offers great value for money. It's bursting with acidity, showing balanced medium fruit and tannins, with a bright ruby red and a garnet hue, 13.5% ABV. Showing baking spices, red currant, fresh tart cherry and red field berry. Pairs well with lamb, or BBQ salmon or on it's own. @jonsteeves rated 91/100 - tasted May 2016
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Te Pa does their Pinot Noir right. Fermenting in open top fermentors with wild yeast; maturing it in new and used oak. They even hand harvested the different parcels used in this wine over the course of seven days to achieve subtle nuances in the aromatics.
Bright cherry-red. High alcohol shows in the glass-coating.
Cocoa mulch, cherry jam, chickory, damson, game, smoke, and vanilla bean.
Great purity of fruit flavour. More cherry and blueberry. Lots of coca powder and some serious animal character that is absolutely compelling.
This attention to Pinot's varietal style puts them head and shoulders above many other vignerons who avoid these time consuming, yet crucial steps.
Top producer in this price category.
Brent Gushowaty rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Eye - very pale, bright, light cherry rim.

Nose – Candied vanilla, cherry, slightly spicy, light touch of sweet spices even a touch of cola

Palate – Soft silky entry. As on nose, sweet spices, cherry, touch of smokiness. Intensity medium minus. Very shy on the palate.
