AB SKU 747453

Tawse Niagara Peninsula Riesling 2013

Price: $20

Availability: Zyn.ca

Assessed by: Keith Robinson

Tasted: October 2014

Product Details: Niagara, Canada 10.3% ABV Riesling

Get hip to Tawse Winery on the Niagara Escarpment. No restaurant, wedding hall or condo development on the vineyard. Tawse's focus is the grape and the wine. And focus is the word – Tawse produces world-class concentrated, intense wines from biodynamic vineyards.

The tasted wine is the non-vineyard specific Niagara Peninsula Riesling.

The tasting: Bright, intense nose of lifted citrus and minerals. Off-dry palate balanced by screaming acidity and concentrated lime and apple. Good juice. Very good.

Drink over next ten years.

Food pairing: This is a strong White that can stand up to many foods – Thai cuisine, vegetarian mains, seafood, ramen.

Music pairing: Flammes, Niagara

Movie pairing: Mostly Martha

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
