From the Uco Valley, Mendoza wine region, Susana Balbo Signature 2019 Malbec has a splash of Petit Verdot added to the mix and is so rich and pure of fruit. Fragrant with ripe blueberry, mulberry, vanilla and smoky aromas on the nose. Deep ruby in the glass with ripe dark berry, plum, clove, pepper spice, smoky vanilla flavours vibrant on the palate. Tannins are firm and structured. Beautifully crafted and balanced. Good now, better in 2023.

Malbec food pairings: meat lover's pizza, lamb, spicy sausage, beef, meatloaf.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Consistently complex and remarkable, vintage after vintage. Intense and alluring black plum, cassis, fig, clove, cedar and peppercorn notes. The palate shows smooth tannins, deep juicy concentrated fruit and a long peppered balsamic finish. Enjoy with carne asada and grilled Mexican corn. Tasted by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Susana Balbo Signature 2019 Malbec has a splash of Petit Verdot added to the mix and is fragrant with ripe blueberry, dark berry, olive, fine herbs and smoky on the nose and palate. Tannins are chewy. Good now, better in 2023, but also a great cellaring candidate for eight-plus years. - Community Wine Reviews
