A strong acidic attack on the front and mid palate. Smoky with loads of toasty oak and chary black fruit. Heart of blackness with a mint lining. Fleshy black plums, blackberries and dark spices on this robust Australian red wine from Fowles winery. Luscious layers of flavour and complexity. Full-bodied with a long spicy satisfying finish. Pair with rare steak.

Shiraz food pairings: hamburger, char-grilled beef, blackened chicken, lamb chops, pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Mick rated this wine as 100/100
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a bit of a different cool climate Shiraz, from the Victoria province, that shows loads of character of ripe, tart fruit. On the nose it has complex red fruits of raspberries, cranberries, mixed with darker plums and oaky spice. On the palate, it is crisp with a lot of the same fruit notes mixed with layers of spice and herbaceous notes of mint and eucalyptus. Wonderfully complex, that went incredibly well with a simple Sheppard's pie.
This is the 2013 vintage of this robust wine from the Australian wine region of Victoria, in the Strathbogie Ranges, a cool region. The finishes with black fruit and spice. - Community Wine Reviews
