Firm tannins on the palate of this robust Southern red wine made mostly form the classic Cabernet Sauvignon grape with a splash of Cabernet Franc. The winery is located in Stellenbosch, the heart of South African winemaking country. This wine was aged in small French oak barriques for 12 months. Mocha and blackcurrant on the finish. Pair with rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: gourmet hamburgers, grilled pork chops, barbecued steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark fruit, pepper, earth and cassis on the nose - the earthiness dwindles on the palate however, the well integrated layers show a great freshness with lots of dark fruit and cracked black pepper. Great value!
From the Stellenbosch wine region, Stellenrust (2015) is great value under $20 and is a red wine blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and some Cabernet Franc. Ripe red fruit, blackberries and a touch of pepper spice can be found on the palate. Great now, but cellar for a couple of years for the wine to show its best. - Community Wine Reviews
