A beautifully built, full-bodied red blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Lush and mouth filling with ripe blackberry, plum, mocha and well-integrated oak spice flavours. Well-balanced with great food-friendly acidity and fine-grained tannins.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pepper steaks, smoky ribs, hard cheese, braised pork shanks.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

An elegant and polished Cab. Fragrant and flavourful with soft floral notes, dark berry fruit, toasted oak and subtle spices on the nose. The palate continues with plum, mocha, leather, tobacco and toasted oak. Satiny mothfeel and excellent balance, with delicious elegant finish. A perfect pairing for your next steak or roast beef dinner. Unforgettable, would definitely buy this again.

Alana L rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Artemis, named after the Greek goddess of the hunt, is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and 1% Malbec in this 2017 expression that was marked by the October wildfires that burned throughout Napa and Sonoma counties. Ripe fruit (blackberry, dark cherry and raspberry), spice, wet earth, pipe tobacco and cedar on the nose combine with added mocha and toasted oak on the palate resulting in a full-bodied, complex, rich, layered wine.

Would pair beautifully with dry rub ribs or pasta puttanesca.

In Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon is often called the King of Grapes, accounting for more than 50% of the region’s planted acreage grown in all 16 sub regions. To many, Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are almost synonymous.

Tasted as part of the 'California Wine Month: Napa Valley’s King of Grapes - Cabernet Sauvignon’, a panel discussion and tasting to explore the quality, personality, versatility and diversity of the region’s signature grape, bringing together some of its most celebrated winemakers to discuss their insights and experience with the variety; moderated by Master Sommelier and speaker Andrea Robinson and California Wines Canada and featuring panelists Marcus Notaro, Winemaker Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars; Michael Scholz, Winemaker, St. Supery and Priyanka French, Winemaker, Signorello Estates.

Cheers!
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis 2017 is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon-driven red wine blend, spicy on the nose with ripe berry, earthy, mocha and wild herb flavours on the palate balanced with great acidity for food. Pour with a rib roast. - Community Wine Reviews
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is a cult classic. A full-bodied, muscular, tannic red with great acidity with a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. So dark and lush witj ripe blackberry aromas and wild herb aromas. Earthy with ripe dark berry, violets, dark cherry and plum finishing fresh, long and spicy. Tannins are structured and ready for a two-inch prime rib on the grill. Amazing wine from an historic winery on Napa along the Silverado Trail. - Community Wine Reviews
