A concentrated Merlot, Petit Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec red wine blend. Juicy with dark plum, violets and dark berry flavours with good acidity for food. Tannins are fine. Good now, but needs some time in cellar to mellow and marry. Try in 2022.

Food pairings: prime rib roast, veal tenderloin, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Refined wine from Stags’ Leap Winery, the Investor 2017 is harvested from varied grape selection from northern and southern Napa Valley vineyards. The wine is a rich and aromatic true Napa Valley wine, showing a delicious bouquet of blueberry, red plum, anise, clay pot, vanilla, baking spice and cedar. A harmonious blend of 37% Merlot, 30% Petite Syrah, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Malbec give this wine complexity and structure. Full body, with well integrated tannins and pleasant acidity, the Investor shows great fruit quality and a appealing finish, sip after sip. Palate: black cherry, plum, bay leaf, new leather, spice, cocoa and cedar. Enjoy!
Stags' Leap The Investor 2017 is a full-bodied and lush red wine blend of Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Fleshy on the palate with ripe dark berry, plum, earthy and savoury herb flavours matched with vibrant acidity. Tannins are structured and fine-grained. Good now, better in 2022. - Community Wine Reviews
