Lovely! Could use more cellar time. Dark cherry, firm tannins with savoury herbs and tanned leather. Made from the Nebbiolo grape.

Barolo food pairings: roasts, game.

Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Bright aromas of young cherry, dried herbs, violets, and a touch of vanilla. Very grippy in the mouth with loads of young tannins, and medium-high acidity, making this a great candidate for ageing. The taste repeats the young cherry, with raspberry and some of the violet coming through on the palate as well. Pair with duck, turkey, firm cheeses, or savoury tomato dishes if you can age this for a few years.
Distinguishes itself, from the geological point of view, as belonging to the formation of the Tortonian. It is rather loose and rich soil, made up of whitish marl resting on more compact layers of brownish gray marl.
Processing: Crushing and-stemming, long maceration with submerged cap 4-6 Weeks (Depending on the year)
Vinification: In stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures
Maturing Process: 6 months in stainless steel tanks
Aging: 24 months in barrels of Slavonian oak oversize.
