Spicy cherry pie aromas in this complex, layers and hedonistic dry red. Medium- to full-bodied and velvet smooth. One of the best pinot producers in California.

Reviews and Ratings

Nina rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Remarkable Pinot! This is really Burgundian wine with Californian spirit.

Garnet color on the core, pinkish on the rim. Semi opaque, bright.

On the nose first-red berries and fruit, then earth, forest, barn notes. Next day-very floral.

On the palate- dry, very soft. With first sip-lot’s of cherries. Medium body, nice, fresh acidity, medium tannins.

Finish is long and fruity.

Good with cheese, good with meat.
There are few New World wineries that are as focused as Sonoma-Cutrer. Following the Burgundian model, they produce terroir-driven wines from only Chardonnay or Pinot Noir. In fact, they use the exacting standards set by the French Appellation d’Origine Controlée system to identify suitable vineyard blocks in Sonoma to make wines that express a sense of place. Modern technology plays its part, creating a perfect balance of tradition and discovery, bringing forth elegant wines like this succulent Pinot Noir from the cool Russian River Valley.
