Sister's Run Old Testament 2019 is a great value Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon under $20. Coonawarra is known for its red iron-oxide terra Rossa soils, one of the most distinct terroirs . The Old Testament vineyard is located in the heart of that wine region and the 2019 vintage is rich, lush and smoky, with ripe blackberry, dark plum, savoury herbs, mocha, spicy and mouth-filling with a long finish. The 2019 vintage was awarded Gold at the 2020 San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pizza topped with steak strips, rib steak, slow-braised brisket.

Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby wine, dry, balanced, and medium plus body.Pronounced aroma of black currant, blackberry, black cherry, kirsch, chocolate, cocoa, and savoury herbs. Prounounced intensity palate featuring blackberry, black currant, tobacco, cedar, graphite, green bell pepper, and black cherry. very good on its own or with aged cheddar.
Trent Mayers rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From Coonawarra in Australia, it is a splendid red not to mention a great value. It's uncommon to find a Cab below $20 that shows such true varietal character; this shows it remarkably well. Deeply coloured, it's reminiscent of black currant jam, blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, spice, and minty eucalyptus. Dry and deliciously full bodied for your summer BBQs headlining beef or pork. It would be equally at home with mushrooms sautéed with thyme.
