Oh yum. Comfort me with mourvèdre and other old bush vine grapes. Rich, complex and deep Australian red wine: exactly what you want in a partner (and in a wine). Full-bodied and smooth and inviting. The Schild family has been in the Barossa Valley for more than 60 years. Lots of complexity, depth and vibrancy in this richly rewarding wine. This is a blend of 45% Grenache, 28% Mourvèdre and 27% Shiraz grapes. Pair with brisket.

Grenache Mourvèdre Shiraz food pairings: lamb Bolognese, grilled New York striploin with chimichurri sauce, barbecued ribs in sauce, hamburger, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Shows red/blue fruit on nose, with a palate of blueberry, spice and ripe plums. Juicy tannins and a mouth-watering-fruity finish.
Three generations of the Schild family have been making wine. This is the classic marriage of three iconic Australian grape varieties. Old Bush Grenache dominates the blend with ripe red berry fruit and dark spice and a velvet mouth-feel. Mourvèdre lends fleshy blueberry and pepper and Shiraz provides the structure and backbone or tannins. - Community Wine Reviews
