An amazing wine for the money! Full-bodied, supple, smooth and gorgeously textured. This is an ideal party wine, and companion to many hearty meat dishes. The tannins are so smooth that you can also enjoy it with drier meat dishes like turkey. Aromas of fleshy black plum and blackberry.

Carmenere food pairings: spicy sausage, steak, hamburgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Brilliant ruby colour with an elegant nose of cherry, mocha, strawberry, pepper. Bright acidity, smooth tannins, and a long peppered cherry finish. No hints of green in this lovely wine. Pair with a juicy grilled steak.
Tasted: April 12, 2015
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Cherry and some green pepper on the nose. Sour cherry, strawberry and spice on the palate. Would pair perfectly with red meat.

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Intriguing nose with red berries, soy, vegetal touches and a touch of smoke. Delicious palate repeats these with more pronounced fruit flavours and spice. Full-bodied with long spicy finish.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

What a steal! Smokey, ripe berry fruit, tobacco and dark chocolate aromas with hints green vegetable on the nose. Smooth tannins, hefty acidity, medium to full bodied and a long earthy blackberry finish. I am dying to pair this with molé!
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Deep colour, the nose displays sauteed red pepper, soy, black pepper, baking spice, and a herbal note with a repeat on the palate. Very interesting wine, that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Enjoy with chile, stir fry, or on it's own. Drink 2014-2016. Tasted November 2014. 87-88 points. Matt Steeves - @QuercusVino
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Medium coloured with purplish hues. This wine has blueberry, raspberry and green pepper aromas combined with a relatively full-body and medium tannins. Good pairing with meaty dishes, bbq pepper steak, maybe.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Mellow, smooth and easy drinking wine with red cherry, strawberry and a hint of green vegetal aromas. More sour cherry on the palate and young tannins. Have with grilled red meat.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Oct 5, 2014: Medium ruby, nose of cherry, plum and green bell pepper along with gentle wood spice. Ripe plummy, black cherry, smoky and grilled green pepper/herbs. Medium bodied and well balanced.

Tasted again Nov 22, 2014: Deep ruby/purple, grilled red pepper, smoky, red berry hint citrus zest. Repeat flavours on palate, a little rustic, good acidity, firm tannins, fruit is a bit green.
Try with green pepper steak or fajitas.
Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Clear purple color with notes of coffee, bleuberry, strawberry jam, herb and spice.

The palate is grippy, full-bodied and very long.

Pair it with any kind of red meat!

Serve it at 15-17 degrees.

Can be aged 6-8 years
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

This red has an intense nose! Half warm green pepper, half dried tobacco leaves, then some plum jam. Jammy in the mouth,it is a rich wine, but not cloying. There is a hint of black pepper in the finale. Would like it with a chili con carne,or a pot roast,or some meat with a side of caramelized onions.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 80/100 with the following review:

Tart cherry with lots of green peppper and vegetal aromas. The taste is a bit more subdued with tart and red cherry and some young tannins. A very young wine that may improve with age.
