San Pedro 1865 2020 is a great value Cabernet Sauvignon at $20 with grapes sourced from vineyards planted in 2013 on the alluvial soils of the Maipo Valley, at the foot of the Andes. Dry, fresh and juicy with blackberry, black currant, menthol, herbal flavours with a kiss of chocolate and smoky spices all balanced with refreshing acidity. The wine was aged in oak barrels (20% new). Pour with kebabs from the grill.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: prime rib, juicy steak, game, rustic bread, turkey.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Wonderful value Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon from a producer who demonstrates great quality and flavour. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, eucalyptus, coffee and mocha. Full bodied, smooth with some balanced, grippy tannins, tons of ripe, crushed berries on the palate, and a finish showing hints of mocha and smoke. Lovely! Enjoy with any grilled meats.
