Each of the wine from this 1865 portfolio is made from its own selected vineyard planted with the particular grape in mind. This gorgeous Chilean Cabernet is full-bodied with fleshy, caressing blackberries. Lots of dark fruit flavour and a long satisfying sigh of a finish. This Cabernet is planted in the winery's Alto Maipo vineyard planted 40 years ago with vines propagated by massal selection. Average summer high temperatures hover around 30 degrees Celsius or 86 degrees Fahrenheit. The vinse are in clay-loam soils in an alluvial terrace.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: prime rib, juicy steak, game, rustic bread, turkey.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

1865 was a significant year to say the least - A delicious nose on this beauty! Blackberry, cassis, and sandalwood on the palate - it is rich and elegant, well rounded and a chocolate dipped cherry finish - yum!
From the Maipo Valley, San Pedro 1865 is a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with smooth blackberry flavours layered with chocolate and red plum and currants on the palate and wrapped up with a touch of Christmas cake spice. Drink now delicious. - Community Wine Reviews
