Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Rutherford Ranch Winery is adored around the world for their quality, complex, and value priced wines. Europe, Asia, and North America can't get enough, and this Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a great example of just how wonderful their premium line of wine is. Rutherford Ranch's Cabernet Sauvignon is a great wine that's been well decorated from wine writers around the world. The Reserve is a whole other level of intrigue, complexity, and power; a wine designed for cellaring yet can be enjoyed now as it's so perfectly balanced and rich in flavour. The 2012 vintage in Napa Valley can be described as a textbook perfect vintage and it's just now that wine lovers are seeing how true that descriptor really is. Allow a two hour decant and enjoy with charcoal-grilled premium steaks, or cellar for up to 15 years and enjoy its evolution. Tasted July 2015. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Full-bodied with firm tannic structure, this is a big Californian Cab with great ageing potential. Deep, intense and concentrated, it's bursting with aromas and flavours of ripe black cherries and blackberries. Matured in French oak for two years, it displays great depth and finesse with plenty of weight. It closes in a very long tobacco-toned finish. Perfectly matched with grilled or roasted lamb.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The 2012 vintage reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is amazing! Fruity, floral, complex, with great balance. Medium across the board with acidity, ripe and dried fruit, alcohol and tannins. This is A gem! Enjoyed with BBQd AAA prime beef tenderloin and butter-basted seared mushrooms. Tasted Sept 2016, @jonsteeves rated 92/100
Rutherford Ranch is family owned and managed. The winery is located on Napa Valley's renowned Silverado Trail surrounded by estate vineyards and a century-old olive grove. The grapes are sourced for diverse microclimates and join distinctive lots when blended for complexity and diversity within the winery's vineyard in the Napa appellation. Finishes with blackberry and boysenberry and smoke. Rutherford Ranch was selected as the Napa Valley Winery of the Year at the 2013 New York International Wine Competition. - Community Wine Reviews
