Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This PN from California possesses all the characteristics people search for in Cali PN. Power - check. Ample oak - check. Full bodied - check. Smooth - check. A bit fuller than earlier vintages of this wine.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

My kind of Pinot Noir! Highly aromatic, with tart cherry, sous bois, vanilla, dark chocolate and cigar box on the palate. Shows terrific balance, structure and racy acidity. Lingering dark chocolate on finish. Great gift wine for a Pinot lover.
Tasted Nov. 2018
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Wow, another profound Californian Pinot from Rodney Strong. Profound aromas of sour cherry, fresh tobacco, earthy wet leaves, smoke and underbrush. Juicy plums, blackberries, spicy smoke with an elegant paprika finish. Acidity is high with a medium plus body, and soft silky tannins. An excellent pairing with sausage stuffed peppers 91 points - tasted November 2018
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Milk chocolate-cherry and raspberry, and herbal (basil and tarragon). A great balance of juicy-sweetness and solid acidity. Good pairing for a juicy burger, or a wood-fired pizza.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Always a good value Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley and the 2015 vintage is no exception. Cherry and Strawberry aromas and flavors with some earth, spice, crushed rock and vanilla on the palate. Tart cherry notes lead to a smooth finish. Pair with cedar planked salmon. Tasted November 2018.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is always a great California Pinot at a great price. This wine has lots of candied and ripe black cherry, tar, fresh herb, earth, and crushed mineral. 90 Points.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

tasted side by side with the Montes Outer Limits Wild Slopes Pinor Noir 2016 from chile. Surprisingly, this sonoma pinot noir offers same fresh red fruits but with much longer acidity and soft tannin on the palate. Also, at LCBO, it's $3 cheaper!!
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Smoky, black cherry, leather and spice. A full-bodied aromatic Pinot Noir with a moderately grippy mouthfeel and long cherry, baking spice, sweet tobacco and dried herbs flavours. Enjoy with seared sage and grainy mustard rubbed lamb chops. Tasted Nov. '18 by @sommsosa.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Nose: black cherry, vanilla, mocha, espresso
Palate: much of the same reflected on the palate, full bodied, firm tannins but not too heavy, berry-fresh acidity, medium to full bodied, smooth long finish
Pair with: roast beef, salmon dishes, cured meats
