Flavours of blackberry, cedar brush, blackcurrant, and vanilla oak on the nose of this classic Californian red wine, with a full-bodied weight on the palate. Firm tannins. Full-bodied and balanced cool-climate Californian Cabernet, with aromas of cassis and blackcurrant. Nicely integrated oak. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with a pepper steak or gourmet hamburgers. Finishes with notes of cocoa and wood spice.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pulled pork, burgers, hard cheese, grilled rare steak, smoked beef ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A full-bodied Cab Sauv from Sonoma County, California, with dark garnet colour and fragrant strawberry, cassis and vanilla aromas. Palate gives strawberry jam and vanilla with touch of mint. Smooth, supple, well-balanced.
Tasted July 2016
This Californian Cabernet sources grapes grown in the cool climate of Sonoma County, where ocean breezes moderate daytime highs. Gloriously rich rub red in the glass. The wine opens with earthy, olive and smokey notes, sour cherry and red berry fruit on the palate and finishes with vanilla spice and sandalwood smoke. This medium-bodied wine has a zesty acidity and some very firm tannins. - Community Wine Reviews
