Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby coloured wine, medium tannin and medium acidity, dry, full bodied and with a pronounced aroma of dark cherry, black plum, a hint of pepper and perhaps baking spice and a hint of dried fig. Soft on the palate, with dark cherry and plum , baking spice, dried fig , spiciness and a hint of earthiness. Because of the earthy note, we paired it with beef slowly braised in mushrooms; very nice. It also paired well with Pecorino cheese and margherita pizza. Pleasure to drink with food and on its own.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of strawberry, dark cherry, mocha and dried herbs. Full bodied, with soft, dry tannins, and moderate acidity. Fruit is ripe bordering on cooked, with some dried hints as well. More herbaceous notes on the finish. Enjoy with grilled meats.
Rocca delle Macìe Di Fizzano Riserva 2015 is a single-vineyard, medium-plus-bodied Chianti Classico from the Tuscany wine region. The Italian winery of the Fizzano estate is planted with both grape vines and olive trees (the latter also has a DO Organic certification). Juicy, smooth and delicious with dried cherry, currant, balsamic and fine herb flavours on the palate. Drink or hold. Pair with your favourite meat pasta and tomato sauce dish. - Community Wine Reviews
