Natalie's Score: 94/100

Rocca delle Macìe Riserva 2020 is a vibrant, medium-bodied and mouth-watering Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Colorino and Merlot red wine blend, aged in French oak barrels for 24 months. Juicy with bright cherry, blackberry, meaty, earthy and savoury on the palate and lingering with a mineral kiss. Tannins are firm. Nice now, better in 2025 when it has had a chance to marry and mellow. Drink to 2040.

Chianti Classico food pairings: mince sirloin, sausage and cheese pizza, Tuscan rabbit, sausage cassoulet.

Reviews and Ratings

Rocca delle Macìe Riserva 2020 is an aromatic, vibrant, medium-bodied and mouth-watering Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Colorino and Merlot red wine blend with tomato leaf, juniper and blue floral aromas and bright on the palate with dark cherry, blackberry, earthy and sanguine flavours so savoury and rich. Good now, better in 2025 through 2042 paired with a Tomahawk chop from the grill. - Community Wine Reviews
