A medium-sweet German red wine blend with aromas of fleshy ripe cherries and berries. This would be a perfect base for sangria and other cocktails.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Made from a blend; leading the way with local Dornfelder (60%), Pinot Noir (20%) and Regent-hybrid (20%) grape varieties grown in Germany's Rheinhessen region. Fruity and fun with a beautiful bright translucent ruby-red colour in the glass. Cherry and red berries carry through on this vibrant, tasty blended red wine with elements of cranberry and spice. Medium bodied with silky tannins and lingering cherry fruit sweetness that carries into the medium- finish. Not overly complex, but a pleasant sipper! It's reminiscent of Sangria, I would guess it to be so if tasted blind! A perfect red wine to serve chilled with any type of seasonal fare, shrimp tempura, swedish meatballs or sandwiches. Be sure to follow the cap and label instructions while sipping. Relax, Chill, Unwind and enjoy! - tasted May 2021
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Relax Red Blend, made by Schmitt Söhne, located in Germany, offers aromas of plum, red cherry, black pepper, graphite, spice, mocha and leather. Light but immensely fruity, the wine shows a lovely balance and a fruity finish, perfect for sipping on a patio with friends. Palate: Red cherry, plum, dried herbs, cocoa, leather and mocha. Enjoy.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Very interesting tasting experience. Red blend from Germany’s Rheinhessen region. Rich flavours of ripe cherries and plums. Some definite sweetness, though comes across as light-bodied. Light acidity and soft tannins add some basic structure. Try serving slightly chilled and paired with salmon pate or mild soft cheese.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Fun, fruity and perfect for relaxing in the sunshine.
This is a red blend that can be enjoyed slightly chilled, and with a variety of foods - think bbq burgers and potato salad.
Aromas of cherries and lilac carry through to a mouthwatering cherry finish.
Tasted May 2021.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Crafted with three varietals - Domfelder, Pinot Noir and Regent - this red released ripe berry and cherry aromas with raspberry and blackberry jam in the starring roles. Leaning toward medium bodied. Soft structure, light sweetness, zero oak notes and supple tannins lifted up this wine’s jammy berry flavours and its long fruity finish. Pub fare would partner well with this red blend.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A fun, uncomplicated summer sipper. This red blend has notes of cherry and plum with a hint of cranberry. Light bodied, off dry, and pleasant, you can enjoy this slightly chilled to accompany grilled BBQ sausages, or use as a base for a sangria or red wine spritzer.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

Pale garnet in colour with aromas of ripe cherry, plum, raspberry and leather.  It is  slightly off-dry, medium bodied with well balanced tannins and acidity.  It has flavours of ripe cherries , raspberries  and strawberry jam.  This would be a great base for a summer sangria or go well with cheeses, hamburgers or pizza.  Tasted on June 15, 2021.
