Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From California's Sonoma County, an Old Vine red blend. Fragrant nose with blackberry, cassis, mint and toast. The luscious palate adds vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. Smooth, harmonious and completely delightful. Long elegant finish.'
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A wild but bold blend of a bunch of big red grapes including the legendary Zinfandel! Moderate fruity and spicy aromas bounce from the glass. Key aromas include: ripe/jammy raspberry and blueberry, anise, clove, vanilla, cedar and cocoa. Acidity is medium + (trending high), tannis are medium plus also, the finish is long and luscious. Pair this full bodied wine with a tenderloin roast.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2013 vintage of Ravenswood Besieged is a wonderfully smooth blend of heritage California varietals, densely concentrated ripe red field berries and blackberry with medium tannins, medium acidity. Fruit forward on the palate, this wine shows California character worthy of exploration with a juicy gourmet BBQ angus AAA burger. Enjoy 2015-2018.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Heady floral and strawberry jam aromas carry through with a magnanimous spicy mouth feel with a long spicy finish. Decant for at least an hour.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An eclectic blend of Petite Syrah, Carignane, Zinfandel, Syrah, Barbera, Alicante Bouschet and Mourvedre from Ravenswood.
Deep ruby/purple, the nose showing field berry, spice, dark chocolate and herb notes. Medium bodied on the palate, with juicy berry, cherry, vanilla, cedar fruit and savory accents, finishing with some heat. Try with meat pizza or ribs over the next 5+ years.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A unique blend of Petite Syrah, Carignane, Zinfandel, Syrah, Barbera, Alicante Bouschet and Mourvedre from Sonoma County, California. Deep ruby red in colour, with a purple hue, the nose shows sweet dark berries, warm baking spice, mocha, milk chocolate, mint and eucalyptus. Medium-full bodied, with sweet dark fruit on the sound and round palate. A very consumer and BBQ friendly wine that's guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face. 89+ points. Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Black cherry and cassis on the nose. The palate offers a sweet mixture of black cherry with some spice and a touch of earthiness.
Under a threatening dark sky, besieged by rain clouds, winemaker Joel Peterson (he of Ravenswood fame) worked alone to collect the grapes for this wine, according to the back label. This is a robust Californian red wine blend of Petite Sirah, Carignane, Zinfandel, Syrah, Barbera, Alicante Bouschet and Mourvèdre grapes. The grapes are grown in vineyards in Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma Valley, Russian River Valley, Knights Valley and Sonoma Mountain appellations. - Community Wine Reviews
