Reviews and Ratings

Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted blind at wine club, Nov. 15th, 2017. Colour, medium plus ruby red. Legs medium suggests 13%. Aromas and flavours of, red cherry, raspberry, rose petals, red licorice. Taste, dry, fruity, mouthwatering minus, medium mouthfeel, soft tannin. Finish hot on the back with a medium sour cherry thing going on. The group ranked this wine 3 out 5.
I ranked it 5 out 5. I thought compared to the others this wine did not meet my price per value test.
Made of 6 different wine varieties, Syrah, Carignan, cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and viognier. According to the label. Swartland area. Food pairing, try a tomato pasta.
Radford Dale`s Black Rock (2013) is a robust red made from Syrah, Cinsault wine grapes in the Swartland wine region of South Africa. The 2013 Black Rock comprises of co-fermented Rhône varieties 68% Syrah with the balance in Cinsault from dry-farmed bush vines. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
