Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

This is almost as good as it gets. 9 years old on release, absolutely electric stuff. Primary red and black fruit and herbs smashed into tertiary tobacco, grilled nuts, iodine and iron notes. The food pairings are endless, but I enjoyed with local smoked pork chops. Drink now through 2030. 94 Points.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Sophisticate and refined wine from the Rioja region of Spain, the Vina Cubillo 2011, made by López de Heredia Bodegas, exposes a wonderful bouquet of fig, raisin, mustard seed, black pepper, volcanic rock, cigar and oak. Aged flavors make the wine mellow and seductive. Its body is warm and coating, tannins are polished and acidity is well layered. A blend of 65% Tempranillo, 25% Garnacha and 10% Graciano provide a solid structure and a delicious finish. Palate: dried blueberry, cherry, dried rose, pastrami, parmesan cheese, vanilla and oak. Enjoy!
R. López De Heredia Viña Cubillo Crianza 2011 Tempranillo is rich on the nose and palate with dried plum fruit, spiced cherry, savoury herb and smoky vanilla flavours. Nice now and for the following five years. Pair with a flavourful lamb shoulder roast. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
