Natalie's Score: 90/100

Full-bodied, juicy and mouth-watering with sweet cherry-blackberry flavours. Luscious layers of dark fruit and berries that finishes long, smoky and satisfying. This wine is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, petite sirah and zinfandel with a few other grapes in small amounts. This is where field blend comes from and it's a traditional method of planting different grape varieties in a vineyard rather than just one. There are notes of blackberries and plums on the finish. Supple and polished. I can taste a grilled hamburger with this wine. Finished with black raspberry and pepper notes.

Food pairings: grilled hamburger topped with grilled veggies, pizza.

Ryan reviewed this wine as follows:

Samantha loved it
This robust Californian red wine is a blend of 7 grapes, the 5 leading ones are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Sirah and Zinfandel. Aromas and flavours of blueberry pie, black raspberry jam, red licorice. Perfect for burgers with sweet relish and garnishes or salsa. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
