A delicate, pretty salmon-pink in the glass, the 2017 estate bottled Quails’ Gate rosé is a juicy blend of 50% Gamay Noir, 40%, Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Gris with a macerated cherry, dried strawberry and light herb nose. On the palate, this rosé is dry, elegant, fresh and clean with melon, dried strawberry, juicy red cherries and light herbs flavours matched with balanced acidity. This is your patio rosé, for sure – just chill and enjoy. The winery suggests pairing it with a caprese salad, pizza or rosemary roast chicken.

The Stewart Family settled in West Kelowna in 1908 to farm the land. In 1956, the family purchased the estate that now overlooks Okanagan Lake. The winery itself was founded in 1989 and from there on in the family has been involved in producing some of the best premium VQA wines BC has to offer.

Located beside the winery is the Old Vines Restaurant also with incredible views of the lake. The restaurant is opened year-round and is one of the Top 100 Restaurants in Canada – but keep an eye to the Quail running about the entrance to the vineyard – they know a good thing when they see it.

it's always nice to enjoy a taste of BC in Ontario, and this lovely rose is no exception. Blended from 50% Gamay, 40% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Gris, all wine were fermented separately, then blended together before bottling. The resulting wine is a beautifully coloured salmon pink, with strawberry, melon and cherry blossoms on the nose. Dry, very refreshing on the palate with a lot of fresh strawberry and cherry continuing on the palate. Medium acidity and medium finish. Nicely balanced. Enjoy with a variety of dishes, but would pair nicely with grilled vegetables, or salmon with lemon and herbs.

The Stewart family name is synonymous with the Okanagan Valley as they have been making glorious wines here for more than three generations. This rosé is elegant and aromatic. It is crafted from a variety of Gamay Noir (50%), Pinot Noir (40%) and Pinot Gris (10%) - a lovely salmon color filled my glass. Fruit forward and dry on the palate with flavors of sweet strawberry, tart raspberry and freshly cut garden herbs.

Hmmm...... this one didn't do it for me as much as for others in our tasting group. I saw more rhubarb fruit on the nose and palate with a medicinal finish. Was it just me? Post a review........

Tasted June 30, 2018. Colour pink salmon colour. Legs medium. Aromas and flavours of strawberry, hibiscus, rhubarb, oily. Taste dry, light body plus, red fruit mixed with floral, finished medium. My wife is a good person to ask when I am not sure about a wine. She was not impressed something did not appeal to her. This is a like it or not rose. Maybe it needs food. We drank it with BBQ chicken. Not a good match as the flavours were off. I think a nice cedar planked salmon would work. I am also more inclined to enjoy Provence and Tavel rose. This is worth the try. Judge for yourself.
