Natalie's Score: 88/100

Full-bodied and savoury with attractive notes of fleshy black fruit, dark spice, anise and toasty oak. Great value for the price. This wine has not been aged in oak at all yet still exhibits an attractive smoky character. Decant for 1-2 hours.

Food pairings: roast veal, lamb, beef, hamburgers, wild boar.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Slight floral and fleshy aromatics with a palate of tart cherries, blakberries, dried herbs and pepper. XD, mouth-watering acidity, long tart berry finish.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A medium ruby colour with aromas and flavours of sweet cherry, herbs de provence, earthy, gamey, cedar and smoke. Medium-bodied with refreshing acidity that disguises the tannins. A tad medicinal.

Gift from Rita
The 2011 vintage of the Puig-Parahy Cotes du Roussillon Georges is a blend of 33% Syrah, 33% Carignan and 33% Grenache grapes. Notes of wild blackberry and woodland spice. -Lots of blue and purple fruits on the finish. - Community Wine Reviews
