This robust and juicy Spanish red wine is a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. Very firm tannins on this Spanish red wine. Needs cellar time then decant 2 hours and pair with grilled meats. Notes of cassis and tart blackberry with toasty oak.

Food pairings: roast beef, roast veal, hamburgers, venison.

Reviews and Ratings

Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted Aug. 14th, 2017, colour medium plus ruby, good thick lega. Aromas and flavours, dark plum, dried blackberry, black pepper, fig, cedar. Taste very dry, medium plus mouthfeel, grippy tannins. Medium finish. Used an airater and had the bottle open 1 hr before drinking to get it to open up. We were eating a nice juicy BBQ chicken with herbs de Provence. I would suggest grilled beef kabobs as a match. I like wines made with Tempranillo personal choice so I may be a bit bias. The price is creeping up.
Worth a try or cellar for later.
Finca Villacreces Pruno (2015) is a robust red from the Ribera Del Duero in Spain. The wine is still quite young and tannins are quite firm on this blackberry and toasty oak wine. It needs time in cellar - about three years should do it. The red wine blend is Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon from young and older vines in their 63-hectare organically-farmed estate, located around the winery by the river Duero. - Community Wine Reviews
