Natalie's Score: 87/100 Uruguay is located between the 30 and 35 degrees southern latitude, between the Atlantic Ocean and Rio de la Plata. Cold Antarctic breezes travel north to mediate temperatures. This robust blend of Tannat and Merlot grapes offer brooding black fruit, toasty oak and chary, tarry notes. Pair with rare steak.
Tannat Merlot food pairings: rare rib steak, roast of lamb New York strip loin.

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: From Uruguay's cool climate viticulture, a very exciting and elegant wine with aromatic ripe red berries and vanilla on the nose, leading to an expressive palate bursting with red berries, plums, spice and oak. Great acidity and lingering spicy finish. Tasted Oct. 2016
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: It's exciting to see a new wine nation come into maturity on the wine market. This may seem like an obscure grape varietal from a strange place to grow wine, but Uruguay has turned a lot of heads with quality viticulture, which they have been practicing as long as their other South American contemporaries. Very deep brick-red, with purple hues. Aromas of iron shavings, earth, bramble, plums, and a hint at the minerality. Flavours of beets, prune, cherry sauce, dark chocolate with a smokey finish. It decanted nicely - give it an aggressive decanting and let it sit maybe twenty minutes. Pair it with steak frites, or perhaps onion soup. If it still seems strange, think how strange it must have been, decades ago, for people to hear Chile is growing Carmenere. Hopefully we'll see more from Uruguay available in Ontario.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Deep purple with loads of smokey blackberry, plum, blueberry, as well as a touch of earthiness and mint. The taste is big and well structured thanks to the Tannat, and has flavours of blackberry, plum, and cherry. Great value in this wine. Pair it with rare red meats or hard cheeses. http://eatdrinkandbenerdy.blogspot.ca/2016/12/pisano-cisplatino-pequena-reserva.html
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review: Full-on fresh berry basket juiciness on the nose and palate. Pretty ruby with a purple hue in the glass with some slow moving legs. Dry, medium(+) acidity and youthful tannins. Nice effort from a region I'm not overly familiar with. Tasted: October 2016
The Pisano family has been making wine for more than 300 years in Italy and now has entered Uruguay with this winery that was one of the first in the country to be certified for integrated pest control and ecofriendly systems. Slow and gradual ripening allows the wine grapes to mature evenly gaining flavour and complexity. - Community Wine Reviews
