A supple, rich Barossa Shiraz with a gorgeous profile of fruit flavour and colour. Velvet texture on the palate and finish. This wine was aged in 100% new French oak barrels. Pair with prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

I stand corrected! I found and Australian Shiraz I love…
Presentation: Nice, classic, distinctive label
Appearance: Dark ruby
Nose: Leather, dark berries, charcoal, grilled meat, dark chocolate
Taste: Charcoal, dark chocolate, plums, black licorice, with a hint of sweetness
Finish: A long finish with some tannins, charcoal, but still round and “warm.” A nice, soft back end.
Overall impression: Wow! I stand corrected. I thought Australian Shiraz was big, fruit forward and all about the black pepper. This is a layered, complex wine, with a hint of sweetness that reflects the terroir. I had it with spicy beef, which made the wine spicy as well. It’s on the pricier side, but well worth the money.
Value: 4/5
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A truly gorgeous Shiraz from low-yield Barossa vines. Smooth, soft, rich and full mouthfeel with loads of blueberry, currant/cassis, cocoa, velvety tannins, touch of spice and a very enjoyable long finish. Pairs well with gently spiced beef or lamb dishes.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deeply concentrated and dark ruby red, 14.5% ABV. This is a complex, well structured, elegant, silky smooth Shiraz with Barossa typicity. Fruit sourced from old vines in excess of 35 years, provided low yields, high aromatic concentration from the Stonewall, Light Pass and Vine Vale Barossa districts. Well-rounded tannins, voluptuous full body, showing mocha dark chocolate, ripe red and black field berries, ripe plum and a hint of black peppercorn. Recommend decanting 2 hours. Paired perfectly with a braised lamb taco. @jonsteeves rated 92/100 - tasted May 2016
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Here we have a bold expression of Barossa Valley Shiraz. This wine pours with an opaque appearance and an inky ruby red hue. The nose is pristine with pronounced notes of cassis, black plum, eucalyptus, leather and all spice. The palate is delectable! Ripe and red berry fruit, baking spice, mint, vanilla bean, tobacco leaf are the top flavours but as the wine opens up, much more nuances are revealed. This wine is full bodied with silky smooth tannins, high acidity (balanced), tremendous fruit concentration and a long minty cocoa finish. Enjoyed braised beef or a rack of lamb roast. Tasted May 2016
