Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Blended from 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Syrah. Dark berry, plum, dried herb, leather, and spice. Full bodied, smooth but firm tannins, lots of rich fruit on the palate. Medium+ acidity, and a lengthy finish tinged with leather and spice. Enjoy with a grilled steak.
Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Tasted January 2019. Pentage 2012 just seems to be getting better. Smoky on the nose with fried bacon and dark cherry aromas – both of my favourite food groups. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Syrah red wine blend is very approachable now. Dry and medium-bodied, savoury and smoky on the palate with ripe, soft blueberry, mulberry and meaty flavours, muddled dark spices on a medium-plus-length finish. Acidity is medium and tannins are soft and velvety. Decanted two hours prior to pouring with a grilled skirt steak - a perfect pairing for this savoury red.
