A lovely floral, aromatic white wine from Pelee Island made from a blend of Auxerrois, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc grapes. Perfect on its own as an aperitif or companion to seafood.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Lola Limited Edition White 2020 from Pelee Island will be a great addition to your patio this summer. Blended from Auxerrois, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, the wine offers aromas of yellow apple, peach, lime, orange blossom, crushed gravel and almond. Light and fresh, the finish is short, providing just enough acidity for Thai food pairing. Palate: Green apple, lemon, ginger, quinine and saline. Enjoy.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The 2020 Lola Limited Edition White features a kind of effervescent peppiness that stirred my sense to life. My senses also picked up some pleasing expressions of citrus zest, honey dipped green apple, orange blossom, and crushed slate. Freshness, crispness, and texture headline the mouth feel appeal of this wine that’s classified as VQA Ontario.

I’d serve this chilled and I'd pair it dishes that have a spicy kick.

PS - What I like the most about this Lola was the plot twist that my senses experience. For me, the scents seemed elevated on the sweetness scale, so I was anticipating sweet flavours. But that wasn’t the case. This blend of Auxerrois, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc grapes leans dry. Well played, wine maker!
