Reviews and Ratings

Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Nine renowned wine makers have thrown their hats in together to create this complex Cabernet Sauvignon dominated Meritage of six varietals plus Syrah. The result is a full-bodied, opulent and complex wine with dark berries, bramble, ripe raspberries, pungent spice, and savoury, earthy notes. Full-bodied, supple, and refreshing, this wine will impress on the long, warming finish as it showcases Wahington at its best.
Pair with lamb or finer cuts of beef.
Drink now or cellar until 2022 as more savoury notes will develop to complement the intense fruit. This wine will benefit from decanting.
Date tasted: August 2015.
Produced by Long Shadows Winery, this wine uses grapes that aren't good enough for Randy Dunn's Feather or Michel Rolland's Pedestal wines. Winemaker Gilles Nicault has created a red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (21%), Syrah (7%), Petit Verdot (6%), Malbec (6%) and Carménère grapes. The vines grow on the Wahluke Slope and Benches near Wallula Gap. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
