Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

If you like New Zealand Pinot Noir, you may like examples of Syrah from New Zealand for the same reasons. They have beautiful aromatics and depending on the style of production, they can have a wonderfully balanced array of spice to fruit.
This wine has a beautiful colour. Deep ruby with some slight bricking to the centre - watery rim.
Smelling it, you get whiffs of pot pourri, cocoa powder (trademark NZ), dark cherry, thyme, kirsch, and some slight funky earthiness.
The palate is suace and smooth. Lots of cherry and chocolate. Moderate oak - most likely oaked after being tank fermented. Slight gaminess, but still very much dominated by red and black fruit.
Tastefully made and a great value. It carries 14%alcohol effortlessly. Pair it with game sausages on the barbecue.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
