Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ripe blackberry and cassis with hints of cedar. Moderate tannins and vibrant acidity strike a balance between accessibility and ageability. Dark fruits are joined by dill in the respectable finish. Take your pick of lamb, beef, or pork, this will suit any of them quite well.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark and inky in the glass. It opens with a fairly pronounced barnyard nose that eventually gives way to smoky tones. Lots of fruit on a hot palate. Lots of tannins still in play. Serve with substantial BBQ meats, stews and charcuterie. Tasted April 2019.
Montes Alpha Special Cuvée 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is smoky on the nose with dark chocolate and nutty aromas. Full-bodied with firm tannins on the palate to go with the fresh blackberry and ripe cassis flavours on the palate. Decant for two hours prior to pouring with bison burgers or hold in cellar for another two years to mellow. - Community Wine Reviews
