Peppery with black fruit with a smooth, full-bodied texture. A great gulper of a wine for BBQs.

Plavac food pairings: grilled chicken with tomato and olives.

You may be wondering what the heck is Plavac Mali (called just Plavac on the label) and how do I pronounce it? This native Croatian grape (pronounced PLAH-vahts MAH-lee) is the dominant black grape variety of the sunny Dalmatian Coast near the Adriatic Sea. Its name describes the grape quite literally as Plava (meaning blue) and Mali (meaning small). Well worth discovering, this maturing wine features purple plum, vanilla, cherry and blueberry aromas and flavours along with a hint of earthiness. Quite dry with well-balanced crisp acidity. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
