Michele Chiarlo La Court Nizza Riserva 2017 Barbera is supple, rich and succulent with crushed raspberry, black cherry, mocha, dried fine herbs and subtle spicy notes vibrant and harmonious on the palate. Tannins are velvety. Enjoy with tagliolini and sauteed porcini mushrooms. Grapes for this vintage were hand-harvested from the La Court vineyard with a favoured south, south-southwest exposure. Produced by winemaker, Stefano Chiarlo.

Food pairings: roast pork, veal Porterhouse, lamb chops from the grill.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

If you haven't tried a Nizza DOCG wine yet, I highly recommend picking up this gem while it's available at LCBO. Nizza DOCG showcases the best of Piedmont's Barbera grapes and neighbours the iconic Barolo producing region which is renowned for producing the King of Italian wines. If Barolo is the King, Nizza DOCG wines perhaps are the Prince of Italian reds. Check out this offering from Michele Chiarlo, iconic Piedmont producer of some of the finest wines available.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
