Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Sour cherry, wild blueberry, plum, and smoke on the intense nose. Good acidity, very ripe and jammy on the palate, candied on the finish. Impressive grip of tannins. The rustic nature of this blend, dry, high acid, and grippy tannins, gives way to the modern ripe and fruity styling. Interesting and appreciable mix of 65% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. Demands food, so prepare something like a Bolognese sauce, meat lasagna, or veal Permesan, and dig in.
From the Tuscany wine region, Mazzei Poggio Badiola Di Fonterutoli 2016 is a medium-plus-bodied 65% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot red blend with dark cherry, plum and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are chewy. Needs about two years in cellar to show its best. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
