Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

There's loads acidity to balance the oak on this wine, with notes of green apple, green fig, unripe tropical fruit, persimmon and candied citrus. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Oaky Chardonnays are most often seen with softer acids, while this one is a nice contrast. While being oaky it offers a more crisp style around the apple fruit. Clean and fresh.
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted June 21st at wine club. This wine displayed some lemon citrus flavour, white peach, dried lemon, oyster shell, and a nice balance of oak. This wine placed middle of the road some liking it others not so much.
Reserva Especial (2015) is a single vineyard selection Chardonnay from the Limarí Valley. Maycas Del Limarí Chardonnay was brought up in alluvial-clay, calcareous soils and good drainage. The wine spend 11 months in French oak Burgundy barrels. Bright yellow in colour, the wine is citrus, with ripe golden apple, white stonefruit and a hint of hazelnut nuttiness from judicious oak treatment. Pair with smoked salmon eggs Benedict, or on its own. - Community Wine Reviews
