Heavy in the toasty oak and smoke on the nose, but still attractive. The burnt wood envelopes this Chilean Pinot Noir. Flavours of blackened cherry on the palate. pair with grilled chicken. Maycas means arable lands in Quechua, where the foundation of the South American empire of the Incas once ruled. The vines are planted in mineral-rich soils with the cooling breezes of the Pacific Ocean to moderate temperatures.

Pinot Noir food pairings: lamb shanks in red wine and roasted garlic, grilled lamb lollipops, stuffed lamb tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A cool climate Pinot with loads of smoke and berry. A lovely medium bodied with cranberry, tart cherry, and tomato leaf notes. It's a touch out of balance for me being on the sweeter side but still a fresh expression of Pinot Noir. Tasted Nov 2016 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
