A terrifically vibrant and zesty New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of lemongrass, chives and lime zest. Racy acidity for seafood. Great price for this quality.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: salads topped with herbed goat cheese, grilled chicken, fish tacos.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A classic NZ Sauvignon Blanc at an amazing price. Clean and crisp with a pronounced herbaceousness and cat pee on the nose, softened with hints of white flowers. Satisfying on the palate. Medium weight and nicely balanced. Very long finish. Excellent value. Tasted April 2019.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Powerful aromas of tomato leaf, asparagus, passion fruit, pineapple, and lemon grass. Plenty of lemon and citrus, especially white grapefruit, all framed with steely acidity and mild minerality. Tropical fruits replay on the long, dry, and tasty finish. Ideal match for chicken and seafood dishes with lemon, shellfish, or grilled asparagus.
From Matahiwi Estate, their 2018 Sauvignon Blanc wine grapes were sourced from Wairarapa, North Island. Love the delicate herb, grassy, fresh tropical fruit flavours on this zesty and well-balanced SB. Weighty and rounded on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews
