From the Matahiwi Vineyard in the Wairarapa wine region, Holly 2019 Pinot Noir is elegant with pink florals, ripe red and dark berry, fine herb, nutmeg and ginger spice plushy and fresh on the palate. Tannins are fine and chalky. The Matahiwi Vineyard is planted with several Pinot Noir clones. This wine was made from clones 667, 5 and 777 and was aged 12 months in oak barrels (23% new).

Pinot Noir food pairings: grilled lamb chops, sirloin steak, grilled veggie kebab.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a beautiful and fragrant Pinot Noir. Aromas of red cherry, violets, smoke and warmm earthy spice. Medium bodied, with light hints of tannin, and bright acidity. Flavours on the palate include ripe, slightly tart red berries, along with more floral, oak, and spicy hints. Enjoy with pork, salmon, or any mushroom based dishes.
