Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

If you like Amarone, then you should like this wine. Slightly rustic with a sweet fruit note it reminds me of figs preserved in syrup. Hints of treacle and molasses with blackberry jam. A luscious wine that would do well served with powerful cheeses. @wrightwineblog
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A full-bodied Primitivo where the grapes were aged in the appassito method, like Amarone. Cherry aromas with blackberries on the palate. Low acidity and tannins, very smooth to the finish. Serve with barbeque, red meat stews, or aged cheese appetizers.
From the Puglia wine region, Masso Antico 2017 is a rich and juicy Primitivo with a ripe strawberry jam nose, fine herbs and smoky vanilla aromas. Delish on the palate with layers of spicy ripe red berry, cherry, savoury herbs smoky on the palate. Pair with grilled Korean-style ribs, game burgers or blackened chicken. - Community Wine Reviews
