Wine grapes for Masserie Pisari 2017 Primitivo are grown in the Conca d'Oro Valley just 10 minutes from the climate moderating Mediterranean Sea. Intense ruby in the glass with rich red berry, cherry, plum, smoke flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm and nicely chewy. Enjoy now and for the next five years. Pair with sticky pork ribs.

Primitivo food pairings: cheese pizza, hard cheeses, roast leg of veal.

Reviews and Ratings

Trent Mayers rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby in colour, this wine delivers with ripe tannins and intense black fruits like dark plum and blackberry along with some prune, black pepper, and sweet baking spice. Meaty pizza or pasta will suit, but for some real fun, try it with a well marinated, grilled flank steak. 3.5+ stars out of 5.
From Salento, Puglia wine region, Masserie Pisari 2017 is a fantastic value, medium-bodied and juicy Primitivo under $15. The wine is full-bodied with dried berries, tobacco leaf, ripe dark plum, blueberry flavours wrapped up in a smattering of pepper and cake spice. Nicely done, particularly at this price. Tannins are fresh and chewy with great acidity for food on this wine. Decant two hours prior to pouring with a meat lovers' pizza of cellar for another couple of years for it to mellow and marry. - Community Wine Reviews
