Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Vina Alarde Reserva 2013, from the Bodega Marques de la Concordia, is a complex and elegant wine from Rioja, Spain. The wine reveals a nice bouquet of fig, raisin, mustard seed, pastrami, parmesan cheese, cigar box, dill and oak. Made mainly from Tempranillo and Grenache, this medium-bodied Spaniard shows a well integrated balance, and a dry and harmonious finish. The flavors offer delicious fig, dried blueberry, dried leaves, tobacco, wood burner and cedar. Delicious wine. Enjoy!
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Enticing smoky, tobacco and old leather notes on the nose. The palate is relatively smooth but still showing good acidity and tannic structure. Makes me wish I smoked cigars! Will pair beautifully with pepper steak or braised short ribs. Excellent value. Excellent value. Tasted Dec 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Robust and flavourful! Aromas of dark plums, black cherry, leather, spice and tobacco. Full bodied and smooth with some medium tannins, vibrant acidity, and ripe, dark fruit on the palate, with smoky, leathery notes on the finish. Enjoy with braised beef ribs.
From the Rioja, a full-bodied Reserva with spicy plum, dark berry and sweet dried tobacco leaf flavours on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews
