Great value in the glass. To add heft and richness to this Spanish white wine, the winery takes this blend of traditional -- Viura and Malvasia -- and uses French oak barriques, which impart more nuanced and subtle aromas and flavours than do the more commonly used American casks. Pair with seafood in a rich sauce.

Food pairings: sea scallops pan-fried in butter.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Think that the Rioja produces only white wines? Think again and try this lovely white Viura with mild pear aromatics on the nose. The palate shows rich pear, slight lemon and almond, with a nice acidity. Well-balanced with a long almond citrus finish. Excellent with a shellfish stew.
An easy-drinking, medium-bodied white with mild white melon notes from Antea Blanc Fermenté En Barrique, Unión Viti-Vinícola. The wine is aged in French oak barriques rather than American casks, which many Spanish wineries use so that the oak nuances are subtler. - Community Wine Reviews
